More Deeply Considered is an exploration of life’s big questions. Examining science, philosophy, culture and just about anything else to try to understand a deeper perspective, question assumptions, and maybe see things from another point of view.
Of course, everyone claims to question assumptions these days. You can hardly pass a graduate student, professor or writer — particularly in the humanities — that aren’t “questioning assumptions.” More often than not, they are critical of old assumptions, but accept their new, unexamined ones at face value.
My viewpoint is different from such aimless questioning. Unlike these critics, I believe that knowledge is not just the consequence of power, social consensus or culture. Instead, it is a fundamental reality that objectively exists, and as thinking people, it is up to us to align ourselves with it.
If that’s something that interests you, stick around.
